President of the Alumni Chapter

Brother Sylvester Obafunwa serves as President of the Theta Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Professionally, Bro. Obafunwa serves as an industry advisor with Tata Consultancy Services, primarily in the space of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Digital Technology. He previously served as the Director of Digital Analytics for MGM Resorts International, a global hospitality and entertainment company operating destination resorts in Las Vegas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Maryland, Ohio, and New Jersey. Prior to his tenure with MGM Resorts International, Bro. Obafunwa served as the Analytics Manager for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which began his time here in the city of Las Vegas.

Bro. Obafunwa became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, in March 2006 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; where he received is undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems in May of 2009. He also obtained his Executive MBA Degree at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in March 2019 . His organizational affiliations include his service as President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council Las Vegas Chapter, past Vice President for Theta Pi Lambda chapter of Alpha  Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, Co-Chair of ARISE – Black/African Employer Resource Group at Tata Consultancy Services, Member of Young Business Professional Las Vegas Chapter, Co-founder of the Men’s Room (black men support group), and service with various other organizations.

 

Theta Pi Lambda

The Theta Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is based in las Vegas, Nevada. The chapter is comprised of members throughout the cities of las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson and Summerlin. The chapter was officially chartered on October 31, 1964. The charter members consisted of 14 men who sought to enhance the lives of the residents throughout the Las Vegas Valley:
